Solo tackle to total sack (TFL + QBH + sack) ratio. If the ratio is 1:8 or greater (think Big 3 scoring), it's considered impact heavy. If the ratio is lower than 1:4.5 (think more tackle heavy than IDP123), it's considered tackle heavy. Anything in between is considered balanced. NPLB (No Position Left Behind) includes leagues that score different positions differently in an attempt to balance the value of each IDP position.
Total number of IDP starters in the league (effective teams x IDP starters). If the league has fewer than 84 total IDP starters, it's considered shallow. If the league has 84-143 total IDP starters, it's considered standard (8-11 IDP starters in a 12 team league). If the league has 144-239 total IDP starters, it's considered deep. If the league start 240 or more total IDP players, it's considered sicko depth.
There are two possibilities: 1) If the league is required to start at least 48 CBs per player copy. 2) Pass deflected to solo tackle ratio. I have found that a high pass deflection value is the best way to make CBs valuable in leagues where CBs are not required. Leagues with a ratio greater than 4:1 (minimum 4 point per PD) are considered CB heavy.
Ratio of starting DBs to total starting IDPs. If more than 40% of the league's starting IDPs are required to be DB, the league is considered DB heavy. That seems like a lot to most people, but 45% or more of the defensive players on the field at a given time are usually DBs in today's game. If you want them to matter, you need to start a lot of them.
